Our upcoming registration will include 8 Sundays, May 4th - June 29th (excluding May 25th), from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Albany County Hockey Facility. Classes include introductory (no experience necessary) and advanced levels (participating in US Figure Skating tests/competitions) and are open to youth and adults.
Group lessons are a social, collaborative learning modality where new skills are explored in an energetic, positive atmosphere. Skaters will be grouped by ability with instructors monitoring skater improvement to ensure optimal class placement week-to-week. Rental skates are available. Participants should dress in warm, form-fitting athletic clothing including gloves. Helmets are recommended for beginners.
This level is sub-divided to include skaters who are complete beginners up to those who are ready to begin figure skating skills in earnest (approximately equivalent to USFS basic skills 1-6). Skaters will learn on-ice safety, correct use of the blade for pushing and the fundamentals of balance and movement on the ice. Introductory level is $160 for eight Sunday sessions and includes a 30-minute group lesson and 30 minutes of on-ice practice weekly.
This level is sub-divided to include skaters ranging from recent introductory level graduates up to skaters participating in US Figure Skating tests and competitions. Skaters will explore spin and jump technique, choreography and advanced skating skills in a dynamic, interactive format. Advanced level is $320 for eight Sunday sessions and includes 60 minutes of on-ice instruction/guided practice and 30 minutes of off-ice training weekly.
One-on-one instruction is the best way to receive personalized coaching and individualized correction. Our coach-skater relationships are tailored to meet each skater's goals including participating in US Figure Skating Tests & Competitions, performing in local ice shows or simply learning to skate better.
